Bali may be a small island, but getting around can be an adventure of its own. Whether you're cruising on a scooter or navigating traffic in a taxi, it's good to know what to expect.

The most popular way to explore Bali is by scooter. It’s affordable and gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. Just be cautious-traffic can be chaotic, especially in busy areas like Canggu, Seminyak, and Ubud. Always wear a helmet and drive carefully.

If you’re not comfortable riding, private drivers are a great option. Many locals offer full-day car hire with a driver, making it easy to visit temples, waterfalls, or remote beaches without the stress of directions or traffic.

Taxis and ride-hailing apps like Grab and Gojek are available in most urban areas, but may be limited or restricted in tourist hotspots due to local transport rules.

Be prepared for traffic jams, especially during rush hours or religious ceremonies. Roads can be narrow, and sudden detours for ceremonies are common-but that’s part of Bali’s charm.

For visiting another islands you can use transport with ferry (Lombok, Nusa Penida or Java), which is good if you prefere go with your own scooter or car. Another option are fastboats, which effectively saving time of travel. Or you can easily fly with domestic airlines all over Indonesia.
